Expanding our content arsenal: Vulnlab is arriving on Hack The Box

Vulnlab is here to add more to your HTB experience! We know you're eager to learn the what, when, and how of this glorious addition to content you can access.    

What is Vulnlab? Well, for those who don’t know, Vulnlab, a hands-on training platform offering realistic cybersecurity labs, including standalone machines, multi-step Active Directory attack scenarios, and advanced red-team simulations. 

The unification of our content is something we are excited about for many reasons. 

That’s why we are proud to have Martin (xct), a long-time dedicated HTB user and founder of Vulnlab, joining us as a Principal Content Architect.

Martin will be leading the charge of our Vulnlab integration. There’s no better candidate than an ardent content creator, Season 3 HTB champion, and long-time community member to assure we do this right.

So, what does that roadmap look like, and what content will end up where?

Let’s get into that now.

How are we categorizing Vulnlab’s content on HTB? 

First, we need to know where this content will land once it drops. We know users are eager to know how content will be classified, so let’s make it easy. Here’s a 1:1 on how content will be converted:

• 42 Vulnlab Machines: HTB Machines (HTB Labs) & Dedicated Labs (HTB Enterprise)  

• 16 Chains: HTB Mini Pro Labs (HTB Labs) & HTB Mini Professional Labs (HTB Enterprise)

• 4 Red Team Labs: HTB Pro Labs (HTB Labs) & HTB Professional Labs (HTB Enterprise)  

To ensure we maintain the high-quality experience Vulnlab users expect, we've thoughtfully integrated this content into HTB’s existing platform structure, aligning it with plans that best match its technical requirements and value.

Your subscription: no surprises, just more content    

For users looking to access Machines migrated from Vulnlab, be sure to subscribe to the VIP+ plan, as it will be added to this plan. Not only do you get this exclusive content, but also personal Machine instances and unlimited Pwnbox use.

The Chains and Red Team Labs moving to HTB Labs will be accessible with a Pro Labs bundle subscription. You’ll not only have access to these exciting new scenarios, but our entire lineup of other labs, including our newest addition, Wanderer.

For those looking for access on the HTB Enterprise Platform, Machines will be available across all plans. While Chains and Red Team Labs will be available on the Professional pricing plan (and above). Find more about business pricing plans here. 

We also want to provide meaningful incentives for the current Vulnlabs subscribers to access content through HTB Labs when the migration is more consolidated, without additional charges. So if you’re a Vulnlabs user, stay tuned!

When will I start seeing content land on HTB? 

Our content and infrastructure teams are already hard at work getting everything integrated across! But, you might be wondering when you’ll start to see the goods arrive on the HTB Labs platforms? 

Let’s go back to our conversations above to add some dates and expectations about our release schedule:

• Machines: Starting in June, we will begin to drop around 2 Machines a week until we have fully integrated all 42 of them on both HTB Labs and HTB Enterprise.

• Mini ProLabs: The Chains will start landing earlier on HTB Enterprise (this July) due to infrastructure that already allows for dedicated instances. HTB Labs users will begin to see them arrive by the end of the year, to ensure we maintain the lab quality and experience that Vulnlab users have come to expect.

• ProLabs: Red Team Labs will begin to be transferred over to Pro Labs and Professional Labs starting in August (then once every 2 months after).
